Equine body work can benefit every horse, within every discipline, from your happy-hacks to high performance horses.
Like humans, horses can suffer from sore, fatigued muscles and aching limbs. They can benefit hugely from the effects that the right touch can have.
Massage has a very strong healing influence on the horse - 60% of the horses body weight consists of muscle, a huge area with potential for stress issues, tension and injury.
Incorporating massage into a regular training programme has been proven to increase range of motion resulting in enhanced movement, highly beneficial to disciplines requiring stamina, strength and agility such as showjumping, eventing, racing and polo.

What is involved?    An initial assessment is carried out taking into consideration gait analysis, static observations, history and training programme. As an equine body worker I apply a variety of non invasive, hands on application techniques, allowing me to assess the overall condition of the horse, whilst relieving tight, tense and sensitive muscles. Manipulation of the body’s soft tissues encourages the muscles to relax, stretches and loosens the tissue fibres and promotes flexibility which results in an increased range of motion. Body work benefits the nervous, muscular and circulatory systems, aids the horses’ self-healing system and works as a preventative measure for the equine athlete.
Following the massage session, you will receive a full written report on findings, together with recommendations for aftercare and any appropriate stretches/exercises.
